All About Highland Park

Located in the San Rafael Hills along the Arroyo Seco, Highland Park is part of the NELA (North East Los Angeles) region, with close proximity to downtown Los Angeles. Attractions including the Heritage Square Museum, Highland Park Bowl, and Highland Theaters have been mainstays in the neighborhood for decades, and continue to be a backbone in the community. An artist's mecca since last century, the area borders Pasadena, Eagle Rock, Mount Washington, and Montecito Heights.

With many artists, musicians and actors still calling Highland Park home, there has been a rise with couples and young families that are looking to make this neighborhood their home. The many craftsman style homes that were built in the 1920’s are also a big attraction for those looking to restore an important of history.

For the long time and newer residents, York Boulevard offers a myriad of options, from the established shops to the new hip restaurants and cafes, as well as a great park for the kids. York Park or as it’s fondly referred to as "Snake Park" on Avenue 50 and York Blvd is perfectly located right across the street from Cafe de Leche. York Blvd. has been deemed (“L.A.’s Coolest Street" according to Conde Nast Traveler), and it has certainly kept its identity during all the new changes. With over 60,000 residents, HP sits as one of the most desirable sections in all of Los Angeles.

A metro line (Gold) serves the area for those looking to utilize this method of transportation, located near Avenue 57 and Marmion Way. Highland Park also boasts easy access to the 110 and 2 freeways, along with four Metro lines (81, 83, 176 and 256), as well as a LADOT's DASH bus line (Highland Park/Eagle Rock).
